Hello

As a dentist in Zug, I help you regain your smile – with the latest materials and innovative treatment methods.

Why did I become a dentist?

I grew up in a building where there was a dental practice on the ground floor, and dentists lived both below and above our apartment. I really liked them and feel that this influenced my later choice of profession.

In 2005, with the age of 13, I was diagnosed with a temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dislocation, which meant that when I yawned and opened my mouth wide, my lower jaw slid beyond its normal position in the joint, causing me to be unable to close my mouth on my own. In other words, my TMJ was dislocated. Fortunately, due to our neighbors, there was always a dentist nearby during my childhood who could put my jaw back in the right position. After I moved out of my parents' home, I had to be taken to the emergency room by ambulance every time my jaw dislocated.

Doctors had a hard time treating me,  as at that point it was not a well-known condition. They tried experimenting with different methods, meaning I had to wear braces and a Michigan splint for six years. Unfortunately, even after years of treatment, I still suffered from pain in my chewing muscles, and the dislocation did not fully go away. During this challenging time, it became my dream and passion to become a dentist to find a cure for this problem and eliminate it.

During my dental studies, I dedicated myself to research in this area, and spent years on developing a TMJ therapy. In collaboration with biomechanics, orthopedist, and physiotherapist experts we found a therapy that puts an end to the problem without using any invasive methods.

All the people that participated in the research program and I have finally eliminated the jaw pain, and we could finally bite into an apple again without fear.

During my studies and since then, I have regularly attended continuing education courses, as dentistry is constantly evolving.

This gives us more and more opportunities to restore our patients' healthy smiles.
